Ajayi Savours Egyptian League Win With Al Ahly, Plays Down Transfer Talks

Nigerian striker Junior Ajayi has expressed his delight after helping Egyptian League Champions Al Ahly to a 2-0 win against rivals Zamalek SC on the final day of the season on Monday, Completesportsnigeria.com.

Ajayi, 21, scored an 89th minute goal for Al Ahly to ensure his team ended the season unbeaten in 34 league games  with 84 points.

Walid Soliman had given Al Ahly a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute of he game.

“It was a very difficult match. It was a tough one as we played against a big team. We missed a chance to end the match with a high score but I am very happy that we won,” Ajayi told ON Sport television after the match.

Responding to a question on whether or not B he will remain with Al Ahly, Ajayi insisted that he was fully committed to the Cairo giants.

“I am happy to be here and I don’t want to speak about any offers,” he said.

“I don’t know what the future holds and I am very concentrated on my work with Ahly. I always look forward to deliver my best with the team,” he added.

Ajayi joined Ahly last summer from Tunisian side CS Sfaxien on a four-year contract. He scored 10 goals with Ahly in all competitions in the concluded season.
