Gernot Rohr disclosed his mission to Gabon at an interaction with the sports press in Lagos revealing that he his trip is fully paid for by a London based television company, BenTV.
“I am grateful to BenTV. They have offered us a business class ticket to Gabon with accommodation and other expenses to be paid by them to go to the Nation’s Cup.
“Unfortunately, Nigeria is not playing in the competition but it may also be an advantage for us for the World Cup qualifiers. Cameroon and Algeria are playing and I am going to watch our opponents.
“It is always important to observe opponents directly, not just by video or by reports. It also for me to see the general level of African football. What kinds of team we have, the tactics, the new players, new ideas. It is not just about Cameroon and Algeria.
