…drums support for Udom’s Second term
Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh, Tuesday, played host to members of the Youth Caucus, in Uyo Local Government Area, where he charged them to remain focused in supporting Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Held at his Shelter Afrigue Residence in Uyo, Udoh said the Get-together was aimed at giving the youths a sense of belonging in the polity and also hear their challenges.
Speaking further, the Commissioner advised the youths to remain focus and committed to God, maintaining such qualities are requisite for self discovery.
“My objective is giving a helping hand to people, so if God has put me here today, I must continue to put smiles on the faces of my people.
“We have Pencil Factory and we are supplying pencils to two States. Key into opportunity and be a distributor.” he said.
The Ministry of Information & Strategy helmsman while commending the industrialization policy of the current administration, described Governor Udom Emmanuel as a youth friendly Governor, and cited prompt payment of salaries, establishment of Toothpicks and pencils factory, Syringe factory and the free and compulsory education policy as pluses for the Governor.
He urged the Youths to understand that he has their interest at heart at all times and will always work to ensure they are carried along in the scheme of things, in the current administration.
He noted that the failure of PDP in 2015 presidential election was divinely arranged by God so that Nigerians can see the difference in leadership.
“I might not have the time to see you all the time, I might not even pick your call but let me assure you that I have your interest at heart”
The State mouthpiece reiterated the State Government’s concern toward youth, adding that the government believes in them and is making sacrifices toward ensuring a brighter future for them.
He appealed to the youths to justify the State government’s remarkable performance by reiterating their massive support in his reelection.
On his part, the Chairman of Youths Caucus Uyo Chapter, Mr. Idoreyin Umoh, appreciated the commissioner for his Youth friendly attitude while commending him for appointing one of them Hon. Akan Eyo as his Special Assistant on political matters.
He asked for the same support the Youths gave to Hon. Enobong Uwah to be given to Charles Udoh and prayed for God to bless his political enterprise.
While appreciating his fellow youths, the Chairman said the sit out will help create unity and love which is a stronger foundation for the youths in line with the Dakkada Philosophy of the State Government.
Speaking Earlier, the Vice Chairman of Youth Caucus, Hon. Akan Eyo, while welcoming youth leaders to the event, expressed optimism that the event will go a long way in creating unity among youth.
Highlights of the well attended meeting included a speech by different youth leaders, appraisal of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s superior performance, dinner and cash donation of two hundred thousand Naira by the Commissioner.
