No fewer than 60,000 Akwa Ibom state youths are expected to converge on Uyo, the state capital this Saturday for the 2016 End of Year parley with Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The annual event scheduled for Christ the King Primary School, Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo by 10am is expected to attract a large turnout of youths from the 31 local government areas in their numbers.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Comrade Aniefiok Iwa Udofia, said the event tagged ‘Moments With The Youths’ shall feature performances by high ranking musicians led by Harisong, Pasto Goody Goody, Unik Brothers, Sir Wilker, among others.
Governor Emmanuel is billed to attend the event as Special Guest of Honour.
“Our Governor is very youth friendly and is ready to dance and celebrate with our youths tomorrow in the spirit of the season.”
Comrade Iwa Udofia said the youths have resolved to continue supporting the governor following his friendly disposition to programmes and policies that have direct impact on the youths.
It would be recalled that on November 3,2016 the youths had marched the street of Uyo, chanting solidarity songs and echoing their relentless support for the governor, an exercise that culminated in a vote of confidence for Governor Emmanuel to continue in office till 2023.
