Gov's Wife Tasks Akwa Savings and Loans Mgt. Team on Efficient Service Delivery

The wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel has called on the Management  Team of Akwa Savings And Loans Limited to work towards repositioning the state owned financial institution for efficient service delivery.

The governor’s wife stated this while receiving the Management Team of the bank who came on a courtesy call in her office at Government House, Uyo. 

She said the bank which was on the threshold of collapse because of lack of proper management remains a leading financial mortgage institution in the state, hence should be repositioned to realize its set objectives.

While promising to partner with the financial house, Mrs. Emmanuel challenged the team which she said is made up as seasoned professionals to liaise with appropriate authorities at the federal level to attract investment to the state, saying it will benefit the citizenry.

The Governor’s wife also called on them to work out modalities that would provide financial assistance to the women of the state for optimal benefits and as well called on all those indebted to the bank to repay their debts so as to inject life into the bank for stability and proper service delivery.

Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank Mr. Ebong Bassey who thanked the First Lady for granting the Team audience said the group is dedicated towards repositioning the bank, pointing out that the bank has  gone back to its core value thrust of mortgaging.

He promised to partner with the Federal Mortgage Bank to provide affordable houses for Akwa Ibom Civil Servants, stating that over 45, thousand Akwa Ibom workers have been contributing to the mortgage scheme without benefiting.

While thanking the Governor for salvaging the bank from collapse, he pointed out the recovery process of the bank has been evident in the recovered monies from debtors amounting to over 50million naira, noting that mercenaries had been put in place by the team to recover more in the coming months.
