Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has declared a new dawn for the state in accordance with the dakkada philosophy which charts a new course of greatness for the people of the state.
Governor Emmanuel made the declaration during the closing ceremony of the 13th Transformation Conference of First Love Foundation, a non - denominational gospel support ministry, held at the Judiciary Multi-purpose Hall, Uyo the Akwa Ibom state Capital.
"the 'dakkada' philosophy has motivated Akwa Ibom people to take their destinies in their hands and work towards realising their full potentials. certainly, I can see a bright tomorrow, this is a signal to a new dawn for Akwa Ibom State" He stated.
Governor Emmanuel who commended the Foundation for organizing the conference tagged 'I Am A KING', said that the theme connects with the greatness inherent in every Akwa Ibom person as portrayed in the 'dakkada' Creed.
He therefore urged Nigerians especially those in positions of authority to embrace patriotism explaining that "If every man in this country who has the opportunity to serve others have 'patriotism', as his watchword, Nigeria would not still be struggling with infrastructural development at this age."
He hinted that toothpick and pencil manufacturing machines have been brought into the state to facilitate the production of these products to complement other measures evolved to industrialise the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the President of the Foundation, Hon. Justice Charles Ikpe, expressed appreciation to Governor Emmanuel for making history as the first serving governor to attend the Group's Conference.
He described the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Onofiok Luke as a pilar of support to the group noting that his contributions have had tremendous impact on the Group.
The event featured presentation of awards of recognition to the governor for inspiring the people to greatness through the 'dakkada' philosophy and to the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Onofiok Luke, for his contributions to the uplift of the Group.
