Uyo House Member Condoles Offot Clan Head over Wife’s Demise

 

The Member representing Uyo State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon Monday Eyo has condoled with the Clan Head of Offot in Uyo Local Government Area, His Royal Highness, Etubom Sylvanus Okon over the demise of his wife, Late Obonganwan Mary Okon.

The Lawmaker commiserated with the Clan Head yesterday when he led a high powered delegation of Uyo Elders and political bigwigs to pay the Royal Father a condolence visit at his Palace.

In his message of condolence, the House Member sympathized with the family over the grief they may be passing through by the demise of the Late Obonganwan.

He said while the Obonganwan was alive, everyone who came across her knew her as a virtuous and hardworking woman who was very supportive of the husband, the village, clan and persons who were committed to the service of the people.

He stated that besides paying the visit as the Member who represents Uyo State Constituency, he has benefited greatly from the support and advice of the Clan Head, thus the reason he will never contemplate abandoning him in his moment of grief.

While noting that the Obonganwan will be greatly missed, Hon Eyo prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the lost and the Clan Head the grace to continue in his service to the people.

In his response, the Clan Head of Offot and Acting Paramount Ruler of Uyo Local Government Area, HRH Etubom Sylvanus Okon noted that although he was grieving, the condolence visit by the Lawmaker whom he described as a son he loves was a great relief to him and has sparked in him some level of joy.

While commending the lawmaker for coming along with various class of people to condole him, the Royal Father noted that the gesture was not a surprise as it reveals that the Lawmaker is loved by his people.

He commended Hon Eyo whom he described as a true and proud son of Uyo over the strides he has recorded in his representation at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

Eteubom Okon prayed God to bless him with wisdom, grace and ability to succeed in office so that the people of Uyo will invariably be the ones to reap the dividends of good representation.

The burial of the late Obonganwan is slated to hold today.
