When it comes to imposition of candidates, Ika LGA has suffered the most. Show me any political office in holder from IKA that was not imposed, just one. To worsen the issue, it is always the unfit that are imposed on us. It is not a mistake that those imposed are the unfit, it is intentionally done by political gladiators for easy manipulation and none of them have ever tried doing an "NGIGE". Do you know what Ngige did in Anambra State? He rebel against the Ubas for the good of the people and that explains why he remains a hero still date within and outside Anambra State.
The fact that the leaders of Ika LGA are in most cases imposed on the people as against the wish(es) serves as a means for the exploitation of the right and priviledge's of the citizen's of ika which include; sustainable infrastructure,basic amenities, human capital development, secuirity, electricity, welfare, effective representation and accountability.
Since they don't have the interest of the people at heart and the will to contribute their quota towards the development of Ika all they seek is an avenue to syphon and embezzle government allocatry to the area, invest in real estate, build schools, build houses in Uyo, Abak, IK, Ghana, South Africa etc. They are after their own joy and that of their immedeate family and some villagers who sings their praise. They kill common opportunities that would have helped in the development and emancipation of our dear Local Government.
How will a political office holder from Ika remember me and you when he is serving another master? He will never care about you because you contributed absolutely nothing to his/her emergence. Your vote is as useless as the letter "P" in the word Psycology. The day his Godfather anointed him is the day he won the election, what you see on the election day are mere dramas.
As it concerns Ika, these Godfathers are not even from here but in conjunction with our elites imposes someone they can always remote control. As for as am concern, the only political office holder that was elected by the people remains Dr. Udoikpong in 1999 or there about.
Get me right, as far as politics is concern, Godfatherism plays a big role. There is and adage that goes thus "awo ase aben awo akwot Abasi Abasi aboo adiong" roughly interpreted as "it is an individual that takes another to God and God blesses. Ika has never been lucky to have a good Godfather. Our own Godfathers wants to share our allocation, they want to create enmity between politicians which they do at ease and our own leaders falls head long, they do not care about our welfare, their major concern is their pocket. How will the Chairman offer scholarship, pay bursary, renovate markets, pay salaries etc when the Godfather wants his share of the spoil?
Our elites are also to be blame because they always lead they way. What happened during the 2015 party nomination excersise acts as a prove to all i have said. Can you remember what happened when then Governor Akpabio entered the venue? What about Enoidem's body language? Like i said yesterday, our leaders intentionally keeps us poor so that N2 Million can look very big before us. You that sold your conscience just to buy a car, which road are you driving on?
Until we say no to imposition of candidates, our condition will remain the same but you know what? Among the leaders we have now, i have not seen any that will do an NGIGE. You know what that means? It means Ika will remain the same in years to come except there is a define intervention.
