The Akwa Ibom Legislative Internship Programme (AKILIP), a career development and capacity building initiative of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is pleased to request applications from suitably qualified candidates for the pioneer batch of the programme.
AKILIP provides opportunities for interns to acquire direct exposure to legislative processes such as bill drafting, oversight, legislative research, and constituency relations.
The initiative is drawn around the three core legislative mandates - Lawmaking, Oversight and Representation while developing core values of volunteerism, community/nation building, entrepreneurship development and leadership skills.
Interns will benefit from multiple career opportunities, working in a fast-paced corporate environment, networking and participating in excursions to various state parliaments across the country. It is expected that interns from this programme shall be equipped to contribute significantly to public service at the federal, state and local government levels.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Programme is open to all academic disciplines
• Applicant must be indigene of Akwa Ibom State
• He/She must be a Degree or HND holder (applicant should have graduated not more than 5 years from the date of this application)
• Maximum age requirement for application is 35.
• Good academic standing.
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Desirable communication abilities (verbal and written)
• Analytical and research skills, especially in prioritizing and concisely summarizing complex information
• Professional work ethics and independent time management skills.
• Applicants should demonstrate interest in learning legislative business.
