The last has not been heard about Senator Ita Enang’s hypocrisy after he is said to have received the Christmas Hampers sent by the state government to him as a ranking government official but rejected the Christmas card.
The controversial personal aide of President Muhammadu Buhari caused a stir when he rejected the Governor’s greeting card on the premise that Mr Udom Emmanuel ought to have appended his signature on the card.
An ally of the Senator Ita Enang revealed that when the emissaries of the governor arrived Ita Enang’s gate, he first refused them entry until when they told him that they came with Christmas gifts from government house.
Ita Enang is said to have received the gifts with a smile, but returned the card to them, urging that they take it back to the governor to personally sign with his red biro.
All efforts by the team to tell Senator Enang that the name of the Governor on the message was akin to signature, fell on deaf ears, as Senator Enang hurriedly packed the gifts items inside and shut the door behind him.
Governor Udom Emmanuel in his usual benevolence had extended his love to all senior citizens and statesmen, in the spirit of the season, showering them with gift and other freebies, just as he had earlier done with the less privileged.
The Governor’s kindness did not recognize party barriers, and as such, all former Governors, their deputies, national lawmakers were visited by the leader of the state.
It would be recalled that throughout the yuletide, no APC official including Ita Enang presented supporters with gifts, and rather spent time attacking PDP stakeholders for partying with supporters.
