Two time gubernatorial aspirant, Nsima Ekere has taken desperation to the next level by coughing out a whopping 20 million Naira to journalists and a fake prophet for a fake prophesy in his favour concerning the governorship seat in Akwa Ibom State.
Emmanuel Paddy Ogon a native of Arakpang village in Mbube East community, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River state is alleged to have receive a whopping N10m from the Ikot Abasi born former deputy governor to make the alleged divine proclamations.
The Ogoja based prophet is said to have declared that the current NDDC boss will become Governor before 2019 in Akwa Ibom State.
Like Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Mr. Ekere is allegedly confident that the ‘divine’ proclamation will be fulfilled.
He is said to have kept aside N10m to pay each of the 100 local newspapers in the state a sum of N100,000 each, just to get the fake prophecy on their cover.
Some journalists in the State who were surprised at the action of the NDDC boss, have vowed not to touch his money with a long pole, while others were adamant and have received the money ready to churn out the fake story.
Global Pilot learnt that the former PDP two – time gubernatorial aspirant has not hidden his desire for the Akwa Ibom state plum job on the APC platform, and is ready to invest heavily on clairvoyants and seers who can sing his favourite tunes to his ears.
Based on the power of the axiom that “what money cannot do, more money can do,” Prophet Ogon had declared that the present Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel will not be there to hand over the mantle of leadership of the state to an elected Governor in 2019.
It would be recalled that shortly after the 2015 general elections in Nigeria and subsequent swearing in of the President, Mohammadu Buhari and all elected Governors, including the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, a prophet of God; Emmanuel Paddy Ogon had risen to announce on the media that God had anointed the former deputy Governor, Mr. Nsima Ekere to take over governance of the state before 2019 elections.
Many who read the prophet’s prophesy may have thought it would come to fruition during the election petition tribunal rulings, since it came in the heat of the tribunal cases but the sitting Governor came out victorious at the end of the tribunals, the Appeal and finally the Supreme Court.
When contacted at that level, Prophet Ogon had said that the prophesy had nothing to do with the tribunals or physical electoral processes but would come to pass before 2019, insisting that; God had declared the end of Emmanuel Udom and Moses Ekpo’s tenure from the beginning.
“What God told me has nothing to do with physical manifestations in the political scene and it is yes and Amen. As I said before; I don’t know Nsima Ekere in person and he does not know me but God has anointed him to take up the Governorship mantle of the state before 2019”.
He explained further that Akwa Ibom State would have a different election time table from the rest of the states of the federation because Udom”s administration will not survive till 2019 election.
