...Commends govt for prudent of resources

Lawmakers in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly say they are satisfied with the way Governor Udom Emmanuel has utilized funds appropriated for the state by the House in the 2016 budget.
Conveying the position of the legislature, tuesday, during an on the spot assessment tour of ongoing projects executed by the state government, Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation and Finance, Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh, said his committee is satisfied at the tempo and quality of work done at the various project sites visited.
The projects visited during the tour by the lawmakers include, 27.2 kilometer Etinan-Ndon Eyo road dualization, Ekpene Ukpa road and foot bridge, Mkpok-Awa -ONNA road, Ndon-Eyo road, Eket-Ibeno dualization, ongoing re-modelling of Eket Urban roads, with drainage system, as well as Eket -Etinan road dualization, among others.
Addressing newsmen at the project site, Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh , accompanied by other members of the committee including, Rt. Hon. Barr. Ime Okon, Rt. Hon. Friday Iwok, Hon. Barr. Aniefiok Dennis and Hon. David Lawrence, said "We are impressed from by what we have seen. "This is a major project"
"We in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly will give our support in terms of appropriation of funds to enable the timely completion of these projects".
"We have seen that funds appropriated for in 2016 budget have been properly utilized ", he said.
The lawmaker commended the contractor handling the Eket-Ibeno road, CCECC, Eket remodeling project, Niger Pet Structures, and the contractor on the Etinan -Ndon Eyo road, Wizchino Engineering being dependable partners with Akwa Ibom State government in it's determination to give the People of the state quality infrastructure that would stand the test of time.
While appreciating the level of work done on the Eket -Ibeno road which is due for commissioning in May this year, Hon. Usoro who is the lawmaker representing Esit-Eket /Ibeno in the House, described the road which leads to the production facility of Oil giant, Exxon Mobil as the best road he has ever seen. He used the opportunity to urge the oil company to be alive to it's social responsibility to the host community.
Hon. Usoro charged Mobil to partner Akwa Ibom State government in the provision of road infrastructure for the benefit of the people of the state.
The Assembly committee was briefed by the Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyangeyen who conducted the lawmakers round all the project sites visited.
Contractors handing the various jobs were on hand to explain the technical details and scope of work of their work to the team. They also briefed the lawmakers on the challenges they were facing in the course of project execution.
