...as Onofiok Luke's kinsmen pass vote of confidence on Udom, root support for his reelection

Governor Udom Emmanuel has urged indigenes of Oro Nation to put aside all grievances that may have developed as a result of dissatisfaction during the 2015 general elections and join hands with him and his led government in the state to build the Oro area and the entire Akwa Ibom State at large.
Governor Emmanuel gave the urge, Monday, at the Oron Union 2016 Annual General Conference which held at the Oron Civic Centre, Oron.
Represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Barr) Onofiok Luke, the governor urged the Oro indigenes to look beyond who is in charge of government and consider what the area and its indigenes stand to benefit if the dream of a fully developed Oro Nation is realised.
Addressing the conference which had the theme: "exploring the paths not taken", the state helmsman charged the people to make efforts towards puting their house in order, so they can come out as a united and stronger force to join hands with the state government in seeing to the development of the area- a course he said, his led administration is very committed to.
He advised that while government is doing its bid, leaders and stakeholders of the various communities making up the area should rise in support of the efforts of government by assisting the government to explore those paths and ideas not taken, especially as it concerns the development of the area and Akwa Ibom at large.
While congratulating the recently constituted leadership of another famous organization in the area known as Oro Think Tank, Governor Emmanuel specially tasked technocrats and intellectuals in the area, especially the leadership and members of the Oro Think Tank Organization to converge, deliberate and draw out modalities on how to attract massive development to the area with consideration on those things that are realisable in practical terms.
The governor noted that not only does he hold Oro Nation in high esteem, but he is also very interested in supporting young persons in the area to join the train of innovative youths in the world in preparation for the next generation which he said, is unfolding in innovations. He urged them to key into every opportunity made available by the government to develop themselves in skills and talents.
Meanwhile, in another development, Speaker Onofiok Luke’s kinsmen passed a vote of confidence on Governor Udom Emmanuel with a pledge to support his reelection for a second term come 2019.
This development took place same Monday during the annual end of the year get together of Ikot Etobo, a community in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area where the speaker hails from.
After giving reasons bothering on the outstanding leadership and developmental strides of the governor, the Ikot Etobo community passed the vote of confidence through a motion moved by the chairman of the occasion, Engr. Clement Bassey. The motion was seconded by the youth leader of the community, Micheal Usen and further confirmed by Idara Bassey on behalf of the women folk.
The development was followed by a special session of prayers for the speaker by indigenes of the community as was led by Pastor Bede Bassey.
Speaker Luke later, same day, also attended the annual end of the year day celebration of Essene Community in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, where he sued for peace amongst indigenes of the community with an appeal to the youths to shun social vices and rather seek access to the revolving loan scheme and other human empowerment programmes by the state government for resources to develop themselves and earn legitimate means of livelihood.
Addressing the gathering, the speaker urged youths of the area to always pay due regard to elders and every constituted authority, as no one assumes any position of authority without the approval of God Almighty. He also urged the people to support the clan and village heads in the community in their efforts towards ensuring a well developed community for the peaceful coexistence of the indigenes.
In the same vein, the speaker also called for the support of the community and the entire Ikot Abasi area to the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel, as well as his reelection in 2019. He further appreciated the governor on behalf of the area for considering one of their sons worthy to serve in his recently constituted State Executive Council.
