In line with the Spirit of Yuletide celebration, The youths of Eket Senatorial District today assembled at the residence of the PDP state youth leader Hon. Enobong Harry with a stern promise of delivering Udom Emmanuel as governor come 2019.
The State youth leader Hon. Enobong Harry who who made the statement expressed joy in the magnitude and caliber of youths present at the gathering promised to partner vigorously with the youths to deliver Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2019 emphasizing that the world today could only get better and peaceful should the youths be given the platform to operate and participate in policies and programs of government.
The gathering which was filled with fun and jamboree of the festive season culminated to moment of eulogies with notable youth leaders across the Senatorial District Speaking the minds of their youth in support of the Governor and the PDP state youth leader.
In a brief speech, the chairman, forum of chapter chairmen/chapter chairman of Esit Eket, Rt. Hon. Elder Eddy Etangkanga admonished the youths to embrace peace by advocating unity as their watch word. Hon. Etangkanga also pleaded with the youth to remain firm in supporting the present administration led by His Excellency Udom Emmanuel.
"let me announce to you all here present that the state youth leader sincerely need your growth both in self empowerment and political leadership, thus, all you need do is to cue behind and push him taller as we gear towards 2019". Eddy added.
Notable among youth leaders who spoke at the gathering were Hon. Nduaesa, youth council chairman Eket LGA., Hon. Imoh Jonah, Dakkada coordinator, Esit Eket, Hon. Emem Peters, former legislative leader, Esit Eket LGA., Hon. Ubong Essien, Youth Leader, Onna chapter, President of village youth leaders in Eket Senatorial District, Iwaad Eshiet, Prince Godwin, president of village youth leaders in Esit Eket, Hon. Nkereuwem James, who spoke for Ikot Abasi federal constituency youths commended the state youth leader on his magnanimity, humility and transparency in the discharge of his official duties and leadership role as PDP number one youth leader.
"As we did for other Senatorial districts, same should be applied, sustained and implemented for Eket Senatorial district whose mandate is upon Governor Udom Emmanuel, we are with him and we will stand for him at all cost to deliver PDP for for Udom Emmanuel come 2019". Hon. James added.
Speaking further, Hon. Evangelist Joseph Mbong who led one of the most formidable socio political group, Eket Senatorial District Youth Assembly ( ESDYA) expressed shock stating that there has never been a youth leader in the history of PDP in Akwa Ibom State who has been so concern about the unity and welfare of the youths of ESD.
"It is obvious that your pedigree has disarmed our earlier stand and the antagonists. therefore, we must confirm our confidence in you as the state PDP youth leader believing that the pace you are accelerating now will enabled the re-election of our principal Udom Emmanuel come 2019".
" I used to be one of UDOM Emmanuel must crictics but, by the unprecedented achievements recorded by this administration under His Excellency Udom Emmanuel, I have no option than to embrace and support the governor to enable him do more; I make bold to attest of the equipped distinct qualities as displayed by Hon. Harry" Mbong added.
In his remarks, Hon. Harry assured the youth that 2019 is a sure mandate for Governor Udom Emmanuel to complete (8yrs) term for Eket Sen. District, he advised the youths to maintain the spirit of respect and togetherness.
