The immediate past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt Hon Victor Antai has called on the people of Oduo Ebughu in Mbo Local Government Area to continue in giving Governor Udom Emmanuel the needed support for him to deliver on his campaign promises.
Mr Antai made the call yesterday when Chiefs, elders, women and youth of his immediate community, Oduo Ebughu paid him a solidarity visit at his Shelter Afrique residence in Uyo.
Addressing his people, the former Commissioner thanked them for the visit and said he was happy to be their son. "I want to thanked you my people, for the love and support you gave me during stay in office as Commissioner. I want to thanked you for the visit, it goes to show that you people appreciates my little contributions in the community".
"I want to say that the secondary school building that was completed in the community, that it was through the inter ministerial the Governor awarded. He did that to show appreciation for the support you gave him during the election".
Speaking further, the former Mbo local government chairman said the Governor has done so much in terms of industrialization despite the current economic recession.
"Mr Udom has done so much interms of infrastructural development. He has awarded contract for the construction of roads in Oro particularly and in the entire state".
Continuing, he advised them to shun all forms of violence, sentiments and unite together attract more government presence.
Earlier in their speeches, Chief E. E Antai, Chief Ekpeneyo, Mrs Mercy Ekeyuwem and Mr Eyo Eneson thanked Hon Antai for always contributing to the development of his immediate community.
They thanked him particularly for providing free water, hospital and building of market in the community.
In their words "We were thinking of how we will have good roads and market, but God has used our dear Governor to bless our community with good roads and other infrastructure".
They used the occasion to advised the former Commissioner to always remain loyal to the Governor, and carry out his duties diligently.
They also used the opportunity to pledge their continued support for the Governor throughout his 8years in office.
Highpoint of the event was the prayer session for God's protection upon the Governor and his family to succeed throughout his stay in office.
