The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen has dismissed speculations of having a strained relationship with his Commerce and Indusrty counterpart, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem.
The clarification comes few days after Governor Udom Emmanuel spelt out penalties for any commissioner who is caught sabotaging the unity of the State Executive Council. He noted that, the story making the rounds in the media of his purported blackmail of Barr Enoidem before the governor is a fluke. "I am focused on my duty and I will not in any way whatsoever, have time to hinder Barrister Enoidem from gaining audience with the governor. It is also laughable when I read that I broke the phone of Enoidem, it makes me to see truly that some people are out to cause artificial rift between us to score cheap political points" Commissioner Inyangeyen said.
"I don't discuss any of my colleagues with the governor. I don’t do it. I go to the governor to discuss issues affecting my ministry and the things that will add value to this administration”, he added.
Furthermore, Inyangeyen said he is not at war with any other Commissioner for that matter. In his words, “I cannot be Commissioner of Works, Commissioner of Environment, or Commissioner of Housing and Urban Renewal, Commissioner of Investment, Trade and Commerce. I can only be Commissioner in one ministry, and the Works commissioner I am is already heavy enough on me to go about having issues with others .
