*Laud Ephraim Inyang On Selflessness, Blast Faceless Stakeholders
By Henshaw NYONG, Uyo.
Members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, under the aegis of Coalition of Akwa Ibom Elders (CAE); a formidable socio-political group in the State, have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Udom Emmanuel, for strengthening the bond of unity, fostering the spirit of oneness, enhancing development and promoting good governance in the State.
Similarly, the party’s stakeholders have acknowledged the selfless service and invaluable contributions to the current administration in the State by the Commissioner for Works; Akparawa Ephraim Inyang, describing him as a wonderful servant to the State.
Arising from their Stakeholders / Family Meeting on Thursday at Uruk Uso, Ikot Ekpene Government Area, the elders specifically commended Governor Emmanuel for his sterling performance and integrity, pointing out that "there is no gainsaying that Nigeria and by extension Akwa Ibom State suffered dangerous drop in her revenue being a mono- driven economy but there is no correspondent drop in the very high expectations of the citizenry and by extension our various constituents”.
The elders also eulogised the governor for representing the interests and the desires of the entire Akwa Ibomites across the three senatorial districts.
In a communique jointly signed by its President-General; Obong Godwin Ebre and Secretary; Barrister Effiong Bassey, the Coalition stated: “We in Akwa Ibom State can walk tall in the midst of this dangerous paucity of resources because we are blessed with a man who is a wonderful manager of lean resources.
"Governor Udom Emmanuel is managing Akwa Ibom State as if there is surplus. He is giving to Akwa Ibom State and Akwa Ibomites what they expect”.
While assessing the contributions of all members of the State Executive Council, the elders scored the State Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang, high on performance, describing the Onna born former Customs' officer as "a man not given to frivolity or disloyalty", assuring that the Commissioner would not disappoint the governor.
The elders described the protracted newspapers attack on the Commissioner as "rather too unfortunate", and charged Akparawa Inyang "not to be perturbed by any highly sensational, fictitious and falsehood by a section of the media".
The elders stated authoritatively that " no sane member of our party; the PDP, would conceive the idea let alone discuss either in secret or public that the governor should 'sacrifice' his right hand man, Ephraim Inyang or risk losing their support for his governorship re-election bid in 2019, except faceless and non-existing beer parlour group".
"Again, the faceless stakeholders goofed when they lied to the public that Commissioner Inyang has no respect for elders. If they have nothing new to say they should shut up. Akparawa Ephraim Inyang is not just the pride of Onna Local Government Area, but proud son of Akwa Ibom State. He takes every Akwa Akwa Ibom elder as his biological father and never has he insulted, demeaned, abused, humiliated or even acted arrogantly with any of us" part of the communique read.
On the alleged doctoring of the recent Transition Committee list by the Commissioner, CAE, explained to the faceless stakeholders that even the Governor, being the leader of the party in the State, did not handpick any individual in the just constituted Transition Committees, let alone his commissioner.
"We would like to educate the faceless stakeholders that all Chairmen and members of the Transition committees were chosen/picked by stakeholders of various Local Government Areas and not even the governor who is the leader of the party did influence, doctor or handpick anyone, not even one individual. We challenge the beer parlour stakeholders to either mention at least one Local Government Area that the alleged doctoring took place or shut up forever", the communique read.
Coalition of Akwa Ibom Elders (CAE), who stressed that every elder of the PDP in the State, have always been carried along in the administration of Mr Emmanuel, therefore assured their unflinching support and total loyalty to the governor beyond 2019.
