Amazed by the manifold developmental strides of the State Governor, within the short period of one year in office, Mr Ekpeno Gold, SA to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Social Reorientation, has lent his voice to the plethora of prudent assessors of the governor's one-year of selfless service to Akwa Ibomites, scoring him excellent in all facets.
The governor's aide who was exchanging views with Journalists, recently in Uyo, the state capital, eulogised the governor's actualisation of electioneering promises to Akwa Ibom people.
Gold reechoed his unpretentious satisfaction over what the governor was able to achieve within just 14 months in office, amid the all-time low receipts from the federal coffers, a situation which was occasioned by shortfalls in per barrel crude oil price in the international market in recent times.
The professional hair-stylist-cum-politician, who lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for keeping his promises to all the 10 federal constituencies in the State as shown by his even distribution of developmental projects including road constructions and groundbreaking for construction of industries.
The SA to Governor on Social Reorientation observed that Mr. Emmanuel has positively changed lives
in every community in Akwa Ibom State since his assumption of office as the State's Chief Executive.
Gold, the Progenitor and President of a foremost socio-political group; 'Udom Abre 31 over 31', hinted that the fast pace at which the present government under the leadership of Mr Udom Emmanuel is attending to the infrastructural development, industrialization and human develop, proves that Governor Emmanuel is on track to become one of the best governors that have ruled the state.
Another area the Governor's aide lauded his boss was the area of winning the war against youth restiveness and hunger.
According the Special Assistant on Social Reorientation, the inauguration of Akwa Ibom Enterprise and Employment Scheme (AKEES), has engaged over 20,000 Akwa Ibomites since its inauguration.
He described the scheme as an answer to the yearnings of Nigerians for the emergence of small and medium scale industrialisation programme as it is done in other developing nations, stressing that it has come at a time the nation is battling the prevailing economic recession by exploring other means of generating revenue following the decline in the oil revenue at the International market.
Gold who informed that one way to move the State forward is for the citizens to have the right and positive mindset observed that he has used his office to inculcate values, morals and right mindset on Akwa Ibomites through conferences and seminars, charged all and sundry to give maximum support to the PDP led administration in the State to do more for the people.
He expressed confidence on the ability of Governor Emmanuel to take Akwa Ibom to the Eldorado, saying; "the speed at which the Governor is using in driving development, touching lives, opening up roads and bringing foreign investors to Akwa Ibom are mere tips of a rich iceberg
that will continue to unfurl with each passing day.
I therefore urge Akwa Ibomites to continue be good citizens, support the present government and partner with it to take Akwa Ibom to the heights of development and progress".
Mr Ekpeno Gold however used the opportunity to pray God to grant the Governor peace, good health and greater Solomonic inspiration so that he could take Akwa Ibom State to a higher level.
