ITA AWAK : CALLING A PATHOLOGICAL HYPOCRITE TO ORDER

I read with wonder your recent harangue on the person and office of Rt Hon. Onofiok Luke and 11th Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House Of Assembly - a lame attempt at attention shopping (which is typical of expired menopausal politicians) disguised as a misguided response to the speakers's speech at the just concluded Young Lawyers Forum Summit held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. According to you, the speaker sinned against the APC led federal Government when he described it as "Apparent Misgovernment."

To substantiate your gaffe you asked for "particulars" of the "apparent misgovernment." My mission here as one of the young lawyers who participated in that summit is to do you the undeserved grace of enlightenment. This ordinarily would cost you some fees but in honour of the good man Onofiok Luke and good people of Akwa Ibom State I do this for you as one of my pro bono as a lawyer.

Firstly, you seem to misunderstand the meaning of the simple English "Apparent Misgovernment." It means that there is a misgovernment that is clear to all. In law, there is a Latin maxim for such circumstance which reads thus: "Res Ipsa Loquitur" meaning "The Fact Speaks For Itself.

" We as lawyers understood very well what he was talking about, non lawyers who understand English without mischief do also. You do not prove undisputed or clear facts. There is simply no need for such superfluous dissipation. In this case, Nigerians do not need anybody to give them examples of misgovernment in the present administration when it is indeed the air we breathe in this country.

How can any reasonable person in Nigeria witnessing the present onslaught of innocent Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen, the all time record breaking longest fuel scarcity and hike in the history of this nation so far, the national embarrassment of national budgeting, the recent ignominious declaration by the Inspector General of Police that any person selling or purchasing fuel in gallons be arrested, the flagrant disregard for court orders and the untold economic hardship in general to mention a few?

Only a man blind by sight, intellect and conscience will witness all these and still ask for prove of apparent misgovernment. Are you one?

Incidentally, the greatest misfortune of the masses in this endemic apparent misgovernment is the silence of all erstwhile activists. This again is an apparent conspiracy of silence which you seem to deny. Even President Buhari himself while presenting the budget to the National Assembly December last year, admitted to the unfortunate predicament of protracted petroleum scarcity in his administration though blames some cabals for it?

This corollary qualifies as self confession of mediocrity but those who use to shout over their voices in the last government have refused to sound a decibel on the matter. Nobody has declared "Occupy Nigeria" because of this government's move to stop fuel subsidy, nobody has declared "Occupy Nigeria" or "Occupy NNPC" since this fuel scarcity started last year, nobody has declared "Occupy CBN" for lack of dollars, nobody has declared "Occupy Police Headquarters or Ministry of Defence" because of Fulani Herdsmen Terror, nobody has declared "Occupy INEC" over inconclusive elections and rigging, nobody has declared "Occupy Ministry of Agriculture" over lack of food especially when a cup of garri is now N100 in some places and nobody has declared "Occupy Ministry of Power" because of darkness in this country perhaps you have forgotten that this administration in Nigeria is the first ever to record zero megawatt in a generation station. Sir, where have you been all this while please?

Ah, lest I forget, Chibok girls are yet to be found - where is Ekwesili? So are you still wondering where lies the conspiracy of silence?

How can you who supported a governorship candidate whose mere contemplation speaks so loudly against the principles of equitable distribution of power and resources of the state across all demographic groups and ethnic nationalities accuse Barr. Onofiok Luke who publicly advocated that power should shift to Eket Senatorial District which has been the major economic backbone of this state? Are you not ashamed of yourself?

You claimed that N120billion budget was passed in 2012 to build factories in 31 LGAs in the state please do you have a copy of that budget? I need to see the breakdown of factories that were proposed for each LGA. Now sir, who needs to furnish facts?
I learned at a very early age that when I do not have what to say I should make sure not say anything. I am at this instant disconcerted that you do not find this virtue worthy of practice.

I am yet to comprehend what you find wrong with the statement accredited to the present state government that "Ibom Tropicana is not the priority of this administration..." apart from the obvious fact that you have problems with understanding simple English except you are just being unnecessarily mischievous. This is common sense, Tropicana is an on going project, there are other projects that are prioritized in this administration without prejudicing the former.
Finally, you attempted to warn the speaker to fold his arms and watch your APC led FG drown our nation with threats to direct Federal Interests on him and Akwa Ibom regarding what has been done from 2007 till date.

Please, I have just some questions for you, did PDP come to Akwa Ibom in 2007? Where were you before now? Were you not also a commissioner in this state under PDP? Can you actually account for your properties from your assumed honest earnings?

Meanwhile, if you have what it takes to direct Federal Interest to Onofiok Luke and Akwa Ibom State please do so presto. Akwa Ibom really needs Federal Interest please. By the way, where were you when this your famous Federal Interest stole the Offices of M.D of NDDC and Rector of Maritime Academy from Akwa Ibom State?

Da Awak, I put it to you that your APC is a disappointment to Nigerians including you and I challenge you to prove me wrong with facts until then I respectfully call you to order!
