Our attention has been drawn to a certain media publication titled “Replace Senator Udoma with Umana Umana, Etiebet Advises Buhari By Ibom Mobile Media” credited to an elder statesman, Atuekong Don Etiebet in which the name of our media organization was dragged into disrepute.
Although it is not in our character to respond to issues bothering on the personalities of senior citizens, we however deem it fit to state categorically that we are completely against the persistent resort of politicians to use the name of our media organ to score cheap political points.
It is so surprising that a highly respectable man like Chief Etiebet could utter such words as, “…writers from Ibommobile News and tell them that they are stupid, they are morons…”
We are against such resort to the use of invectives against our media by the elder statesman and wish to state clearly that we would not be intimidated by threats and diatribes by any politician against our mission.
As a responsible, unbiased and objective news medium, we are completely determined to promote developmental journalism that preaches peace and unity of our people.
We are not agents of any political party and as such will continue to avail the people of our platform to air their opinions freely, irrespective of whose ox is gored.-Editorial Team
