The attention of Global Pilot Newspaper has been drawn to a press statement issued by the factional Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom State, one Mr. Ita Awak who in the release claimed that Governor Udom Emmanuel is the sponsor of Global Pilot newspaper.
After reading the badly written public statement originating from Ita Awak, jt has become necessary for us to respond to the tissue of lies peddled by the All Progressives Congress.
For the records, let it be known that Global Pilot Newspaper is not sponsored by the Governor or Akwa Ibom State government as Ita Awak wants the world to believe. He should cross check his facts before spewing lies in a bid to misinform members of the public.
While commiserating with Ita Awak over his party’s loss at the supreme court, we would ordinarily not have joined issues with unfounded propaganda, but we are compelled to do so for the sake of our numerous readers within and outside the state who hold us in high esteem.
We are surprised that instead of facing the issues raised in the story that was earlier published in our online version, they have decided to launch an attack on the person and office of the Governor.
Let it be known that we stand by our story as carried on our online medium. Anybody who is not happy with the story should approach the court.
The management of Global Pilot is a group of professionals who are out to practice journalism in line with established principles and objectivity.
No amount of smear campaigns or blackmail can deter us in our social responsibility to our people.
