Members of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has today passed a vote of confidence on Rt Hon Onofiok Luke has their Speaker.
This came as a point of Information raised by the member representing Itu State Constituency, Hon Prince Idongesit Ituen.
Speaking on the motion, the member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency, Hon Usoro Akpanusoh describe Hon Onofiok Luke "as a man of integrity", stressing that he has build a bridge between the legislature and executive as Speaker.
Continuing, Hon Usoro said "Mr. Speaker Sir we members of this Hallowed Chamber believe in your leadership qualities, we believe that the position you are holding, you hold it in trust for us".
"You were loyal to the former Speaker, Rt Hon Aniekan Uko while he was the speaker, that is why we support you".
Also speaking, the member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Rt Hon Mark Eset, said "we the entire members of the 6th Assembly are solidly behind you, we are satisfy with your leadership style".
He commended the Speaker for charging them during the rerun campaign of the former Speaker and other members to rally round them and ensure that they were re-elected back the House.
Other members urged the speaker and leadership of the house to remain focus and not be distracted.
In response the speaker, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke was delighted by the tremendous support of his colleagues in the sixth Assembly and Promised to deliver positively
The motion was moved by Member representing Ibiono Ibom state constituency, Rt. Hon. Ime Okon and seconded by his Ikot Abasi/ Eastern Obolo counterpart, Hon. Uduak Odudoh
