AKWA IBOM WORK-FORCE HAIL UDOM’S LATEST APPOINTEE



By Our Reporter-Workers in Akwa Ibom state have re-expressed their readiness to support the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel to enable him succeed in the task of transforming the state.
The development followed the recent appointment of the former state Chairman,  Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Uyime Usoro as the Honorary Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters. Speaking exclusively with Radio Nigeria, Atlantic FM, the State Chairman, NLC, Comrade Etim Ukpong said, with the gesture, Labour movement was part of Governor Emmanuel’s government.

Comrade Ukpong assured that workers would cooperate with the Special Adviser and the state government in a manner that would add value to governance for the growth of the state.
On his part, Vice chairman and acting secretary of the state NLC, Comrade Paul Ibara who described the appointment as a step in the right direction said that the government by that initiative has commenced the process of building confidence in the labour movement by recognizing the segment that represent the people of the state.

Other labour leaders in the state who also reacted to the appointment expressed the hope that the struggle for payment of various entitlements of workers would soon be a thing of the past, they called on their colleagues in all MDAs in the state to be committed to their duties to enable the state government succeed in industrializing the area.
