Akwa Ibom Youth at home and in the Diaspora, have been urged to support the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and also continue to build up a solid foundation for sustaining themselves effectively.
The Special Assistant on Entertainment Industry to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Mr David Sergeant, made the remark, on Sunday, shortly after being honoured by the Supreme Council of Ibibio Youths (SCIYO) aka Esop Iwaad Ibibio, for his massive contributions to the group as well as his appointment as the aide of the State Governor.
The epoch making event which was held at the Community Secondary School, Four Towns, Uyo also had others honorees, including, the Special Assistant on Project Monitoring, Mr Godfada Uko, Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Ambassador Sampson Akpan and Mr Lawrence Udoh, Special Assistant on Inter Party Affairs, amongst others.

He advised the youths to be conscious and take their
faith into their hands, while ensuring that their potentialities are harnessed into meaningful ventures that will create value for them.

Mr Sergeant stressed the need for Akwa Ibom youth, irrespective of their tribe and religion to be spiritually, socially, mentally and politically balanced in order to actualize their vision in life.
He urged the youths to avoid all forms of vices such as armed robbery, rape, kidnapping, cultism, thuggery and other socially motivated activities

The Governor's aide hinted that the Udom Emmanuel led administration has so much in store for youths who think outside of their boxes, also charged Akwa Ibom youth to be creative and also develop their God given talents to benefit from the state government through entertainment industry.
He specifically commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for giving youth opportunities in his administration, assuring the Governor that they would not disappoint the confidence repose in them.
Earlier in his address, the International President of the group, Atauko Sammy Brown Jp, who thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for deeming it fit to appoint Ibibio youth as his Aides, assured the Governor of the unalloyed support of the Supreme Council of Ibibio Youths through out his tenure.
Meanwhile, the honourees were later inducted as friends of the Socio-Cultural Organization.
