A chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Onna Local Government and leading contender in the forthcoming Chairmanship race, Elder Isong Fred Isong, has described the victory of Mr Udom Emmanuel, at the Supreme Court as Divine and the will of Almighty God.
Isong, also a clergyman, who spoke with The TOWN CRIER, in Onna Local Government Area, over the weekend, noted that the victory has vindicated the people of the State who voted massively for Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel during the April 11, 2015, gubernatorial election.
The Chairmanship hopeful, expressed gratitude to the Almighty God and the Apex court, for demonstrating a high level of competence as the last hope of the common man.
Elder Isong commended the State governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for always remembering God in all his activities, stressing that God will continue to give him many more victories in the years ahead.
He called on members of the opposition parties to bury their differences now that the litigations are over and join hands together with the Governor, Mr Emmanuel, to build a better Akwa Ibom State.
The Onna born politician expressed the hope that the victory will now afford the State Chief Executive and his team, the opportunity to settle down and concentrate on the planned industrialization of the State.
Elder Isong also commended the State Deputy governor, Mr Moses Ekpo, for working together with the governor to industrialize the state and expressed the hope that when some of the industries start working according to the governor’s plan, unemployment in Akwa Ibom would be a thing of the past.
Meanwhile, the Chairmanship aspirant had also used the occasion to appreciate some political office holders of Onna extraction, whom he said have proven themselves worthy of emulation. Among them, the member representing Onna State Constituency and Deputy Chief Whip in the House Of Assembly, Otuekong Nse Essien, the State Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyang, the Chief Protocol Officer to His Excellency, Mr Edmund Ufang, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ekerete Udoh amongst others.
Isong prayed God to guide, protect and give them wisdom to contribute their quota to the overall interest of all sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom State.
