By Joseph Atainyang The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Glory Emmanuel Edet says the judgement of the Supreme Court of Nigeria validating the Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel's mandate will provide an enabling environment for the Governor's burning passion of transforming Akwa Ibom State and uplifting the living standard of the people across the entire state to come to limelight.
Dr. Edet stated this while interacting with newsmen in Uyo, noting that Udom Emmanuel, being the people's governor was ordained by God to provide a focused, equitable and good leadership to make Akwa Ibom State a destination of choice.
Glory Edet added that the Governor's leadership style is purposely designed to integrate all Akwa Ibom people both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora and give them a proud sense of belonging built on good governance, economic advancement and promote unity and oneness among the people.
She explained that within few months since the Governor resumed duties, he has spread the benefits of democratic governance to every nooks and crannies of the state and that he was passionate about wealth creation and poverty reduction.
Stressing that the governor's industrialization policy will alleviate poverty and build self-reliance and sustainable development, Dr. Edet called on the women and citizens of the state to support the current government by remaining loyal and patriotic to all government's policies and programmes.
Maintaining that the victory was indeed a historic moment for the state, the commissioner said it will provide an administration that will consolidate and sustain the legacies of the past administration in addition to providing new people oriented programmes.
Again, Glory Edet expressed delight over the Governor's preparedness to serve the people and continuously develop, mobilise and empower women, children and the socially disadvantaged.
She enjoined all citizens of the state to always pray for the governor and other leaders so they could served
them better.
