There are quite a lot of lessons to take away from the last electioneering season. The biggest of them all being from the victory of Governor Udom Emmanuel and Akwa Ibom State at the supreme court. My faith in God increased and it deepened my conviction that God does not take anyone on a journey to leave the person half-way stranded. Indeed, no man is greater than God.
The thursday morning after the judgment at the apex court, I retired home to celebrate with my constituents and lo! I met my aged mother in tears of joy. She told me that she could not eat, and like most persons, was anxious, if not restless throughout that Wednesday, praying, awaiting the outcome of the matter. My mum said she ran from my father’s compound to St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church close by and rolled over a hundred times before the altar of God.
Madam Agi, as she is fondly called, said she vowed to God that she will roll on the floor as a mark of appreciation to God if Governor Udom Emmanuel’s mandate was validated by the supreme Court. She told me, my son Aniekan, (my Uruan name), I have fulfilled my vows to God but till I die, I won’t worship any other God than Jehovah. Our family compound was filled to capacity.
My village head who doubles also as the clan head of central Uruan, His Highness, Edidem Eyen-owo1, Obong Nicholas Eyo-Ukpon wore a white royal Robe with the women of the village dancing with him. He is one man who believes Governor Udom Emmanuel is the man that will transform Uruan Inyang Atakpo, that has been marginalized by successive governments.
The Royal father told me that, if as SSG, Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2013, promised our people , when he came, to commission three remodeled class rooms blocks and two new ones at Idagha Secondary school, that he will construct the Anua-Mbak –Nung Oku Ishiet beach Road in Uruan, and in less than one year of his government, he has awarded the contract to Verini Construction and in no time from now, my people will spend less than ten minutes in going to Uyo.
He said the Ishiet beach market is one of the largest sea food markets. Thousands of people come here from Onitsha, Aba, Port Harcourt, Kano, Abuja and Lagos to buy sea food twice a week.
Today, Governor Udom Emmanuel is building the dilapidated road that leads from Uyo to that market and I am also told he is reconstructing the Market. Governor Udom Emmanuel is a special Governor to Uruan. A people once neglected.
For five years I have been making it a yearly routine to feed the widows of my Community, central Uruan ward 3. These numerous women gathered on that day of victory in my family compound and it was a carnival-like atmosphere, they danced their hearts out, singing songs of praise to God. I couldn't hold my joy as I joined them in dancing , for God has brought to an end my sleepless nights.
This victory has rubbished the book makers and demoralized the political desperados. It has brought to shame and confusion the politicians whose only idea of being in politics is to be where they make profits not to impact on the lives of the common man.
My APC brothers were boasting that the federal government will influence the judgement and it will be delivered in their own favour and during the re-run, whether Akwa Ibom people vote for Umana or not, he will be declared winner. They trusted in Federal might but we trusted in the supremacy of God .
As one of the early followers of the Divine mandate vision , I was not weary about the outcome of the supreme Court even when my colleagues and friends always asked , why are you too sure?
The power of Udom Emmanuel's Destiny and aura is what drives him to high places of life. That is why even people within strove hard to frustrate him by condemning him and engaged in anti-party activities yet the supreme energy behind him is so forceful that no mortal can convene an obstruction against his aspiration and person because it is divinely motivated. His coming to power is divine , God says in Romans 8:29-30 tells us, “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” Ephesians 1:5 and 11 declare “He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will…In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.” Governor Udom Emmanuel is a man whose time has come , so there is no machination of any man that can destroy his mandate . Prophet John Linus in one of his sermons, said that, the most dangerous man on earth is the man whose time has come.
When men rose up to fight him , God rose up not only to defend him, but he will not spare anyone coming against him , God’s Grace upon him causes all men ,spirits and demons to work in his favour . Governor Udom Emmanuel's victory over the high and mighty to become Akwa Ibom State Governor in 2015 is a mission that has been ordained by God himself. When God made Akpabio governor out of the 57 Aspirants, there was a purpose for his enthronement.
Many did not see this except God, but today the purposes of his leadership have been revealed through his strides. As the history of the State has been divided, Before Akpabio –BA and after Akpabio –AA. Governor Udom was speaking during the last Government House prayers, he said After the Executive session for the late former Governor Edet Akpan Archibong , Senator Ita Enang came to my office and said, 'We fought you. We did everything to remove you, it was not possible. It can only be God who kept you for Akwa Ibom State' ". To every man there is a purpose of why you are born into this world to fulfill.
The Father’s greatest desire is for you to have a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. Once you have received God’s forgiveness, then you are ready to fulfill the rest of His plan for your life. Your destiny will unfold as you obey the daily prompting and guiding of the Holy Spirit. Governor Udom Emmanuel is one man that obeys God and conducts himself according to the precepts and ordinances, so God's power is upon him to perfect everything about him. So, in the early part of Udom Emmanuel aspiration, some people where tagging him names that he is a stooge and a complete neophyte to the political terrain in Akwa Ibom State.
It was laughable to most of us who knows that who God chooses he qualify. The victory of Mr Udom Emmanuel clearly buried their belief and analogies of his person. The people of Akwa Ibom State have seen from the productivity of Mr Udom Emmanuel in the past seven months despite the distractions from the court cases that he has the brain capacity to turn their common history from being a civil service to an industrial hub and a State that will be private sector driven.
The supremacy of God is what gives Udom Emmanuel victory, alters the predictions of all books makers and destroys all the manipulations of the APC Government in the Judiciary . All should fear God, there is a purpose God sent Udom Emmanuel at this time to Akwa Ibom State. I know it will manifest positively. He will not disappoint Akwa Ibom people. No one is greater than God
