...Stops Bush House On National Radio
...former aide affirms support to Gov Udom
Akwa Ibom people have descended heavily on Umana Okon Umana, the frustrated and defeated candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC over his vindictive attitude and attack on a frontline media professional from the state, Mr Michael Bush.
Bush, a broadcaster and progenitor of the Bush House Nigeria, an independent media firm that produces several magazine programmes across the country, has been a victim of Umana’s devilish ploy to victimize anyone who fails to accede to his whims and caprices hook line and sinker.
For refusing to support his policy of demonizing Governor Udom Emmanuel like other media aides are doing, Umana has vowed to unleash all his venoms of attack on the baritone voiced proud media export of Akwa Ibom descent.
Apart from withdrawing all sponsorship seals with Bush house, Umana has used his federal might to stop further airing of the programme on the network service of Radio Nigeria.
According to informed sources, Umana’s vindictive stance which characterized his long stay in the corridors of power, is aimed at crippling Mr Bush until he returns on his knees to beg for clemency.
However Bush, we learnt as a humble and God-fearing man has vowed never to succumb to such devilish antics as it is against his principle and also against the word of God.
In a recent interview with Saviour Ekpe an Uyo based journalist, Bush said he was fully in support of the truth and was loyal to the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration, as he was overwhelmingly elected by the people of Akwa Ibom State.
“You know, there is a new governor in Akwa Ibom. I am on the side of Akwa Ibom, I remain on the side of Akwa Ibom and that is the truth. I have not seen anywhere in the Bible that I’ve been told to go and fight anybody, I won’t fight anybody, if God has made you something, that is who you are. I will support you and if God changes his mind tomorrow, I will support the new occupant and I move on.”
Our investigations reveal that Umana had contracted Bush a Pastor as head of Operation in his campaign team, giving him the mandate to coordinate the activities of the various units of the campaigns.
However, as an ordained Minister of the Gospel, Bush an indigene of Uruan refused to be involved in the blackmail campaigns and mudslinging against the then governor Chief Godswill Akpabio and the PDP candidate, Mr Udom Emmanuel.
Subsequently, a smear campaign was hatched against Michael Bush by the media aides to Mr Umana, led by Iboro Otongaran, who accused Bush as being a saboteur and a betrayer.
Umana’s company AEC Works that sponsored some aspect of the Bush House Media services was the first to withdraw its sponsorship deal, before Umana asked the APC publicity secretary and Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed to use his powers to stop the programme of his disloyal supporter.
However, undaunted, Michael Bush said “I will continue to work to support Akwa Ibom no matter who is there or who is not there because for instance, the current governor that you have, has his tenure and after that there is going to be a new governor. So it’s not my business, my own is just to give support as and when due.”
The Media ace said no reasons were offered for the stoppage of his programme, explaining that he received a letter from the DG of radio Nigeria saying, “We don’t want Bush House Nigeria on the network service anymore”
“They removed the programme for nothing. They just decided to remove the programme from the Network Service of Radio Nigeria.”
Although Iboro Otongaran refused to comment on the matter when contacted, our reporter gathered that it was in Umana’s nature to use force on anybody who fails to support his ignoble desires even when it meant going through infamous avenues.
During his time in the State exco, the then SSG was known to always say that desperate times required desperate measures, and usually blackmailed fellow exco members to garner support for his unpopular and selfish ambition.
A cross section of media professionals who spoke with our reporter, said that Umana has taken his vindictive attitude too far and ought not to wield his evil stick on such a good man like Michael Bush who is very amiable and generous to people.
Meanwhile, the youth leaders of Uruan extraction have warned Mr Umana Umana that should anything evil happen to their son, they will return fire for fire.
A youth leader Micheal Okon, who is the President of Coalition of Uruan Youth Leaders told our reporter that the youths of Uruan will not take it lightly with Mr Umana Umana if his deperation leads him towards any injury on their proud son and ambassador.
“Umana should go to hell and come back, he can never get our support, and nobody will keep quiet and watch him bastardize our son who is working hard to maintain a good name.”
Pastor Bush who seems to have put Mr Umana’s evil antics behind him, has gone ahead to establish a charity foundation where he engages members of his fans club on social services and other charity gestures around the country.
Unlike Bush, other aides of Mr Umana are falling over themselves to spew hate articles against Gov Emmanuel as directed by their paymaster.
