What's the fuss about this rerun of a thing, I only pity those innocent electorates who are likely to fall by the gun of major Sani and his gang. Let it be known that the anticipated rerun will be too bloody, too costly...and as such, who will be the loser? Is it Mr. Udom Emmanuel who has caved a niche for himself in the banking sector and will most likely return as an executive director should he fail to win the rerun? or Mr. Umana Umana, a man who has been in government since 1999 and is widely regarded as the man who took more money compared to Obong Victor Attah and Obong Godswill Akpabio combined together, so he will be contented with whatever outcome he gets.
My fellow electorates, we are the once to suffer the pains, in a time when we should be thinking of how to move forward like other states, when budgets are being sent to state house of assemblies, our dear state is now thinking of how to go for another needless election.
Please do not be cajoled by the mirage of lies and deceit being circulated by Mr. Umana Okon Umana, he doesn't mean well for the teaming Akwa Ibom youths who throng the street in search of greener pasture, he is only being driven by the passion for vengeance on his erstwhile benefactor and boss, Chief Godswill Akpabio, all he wants is his own pound of flesh, he wants to be called His Excellency and that is why he has exploited every available means to make sure they word rerun becomes more pronounced on the lips of every Akwa Ibomite than the election itself.
Oh ye fellow electorates, as we await the outcome of the Supreme Court, never forget that there was a man, who was the engine room of all the atrocities perpetrated in Akwa Ibom State during the pre election era of 2011, a man who has refused to tell us what led to the assassination of his then father, uncle and paramount ruler, Edidem Robert Umoette(may his soul rest in peace), a man who should be an employer of labour but feels only him and his family alone deserves continually draw from the State treasury, a man who has been in government for more than two decades.
UOU should rather be measuring shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Dangote, Otedola and Jim Ovia of this world rather than putting all his resources and connections thereby take us back to the trenches of politics of blackmail, ethnicity, hate and inequity. It pricks me to see a man who was a party and signatory to the rotation of power in Akwa Ibom State but now wants to thwart that very arrangement just because he wants to settle political scores. May I use this medium to call on all AkwaIbom sons and daughters to arise against this man, who has decided to collude with our oppressors from the north to exploit our oil, they have resolved to control our God's given resources, never again shall we be their slaves, to my PDP brothers, do not loose heart, do not be cowed by their antics, we will repel them by our votes, we will defend it too, even if it means losing a few comrades in trying to do so, remember, the worst government of your party is better than the reign of an opposition government, if you doubt me, ask Fejiro Oliver.
May the spirit of Nelson Mandela who fought against the oppressive powers of the west until South Africa was librated be with you all. As for me and my house..
