The wife of Akwa Ibom state governor and initiator of Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Program,(FEYReP) Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel in the spirit of the season yesterday Tuesday, hosted Akwa Ibom children to a Christmas party.
The event which took place at the banquet hall grounds of government house had children from all the 31 local government areas of the state present.
Speaking, the first lady said Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas To mark the birth of their savior Jesus. She admonished the children to be obedient to their parents and be God fearing, adding that with God their future is bright. She also urged the children to imbibe the spirit of dakkada which according to her is studying hard in school and believing in their greatness, submitting that as good children, they are the future leaders. Mrs. Emmanuel however offered prayers for the children that they will become productive citizens.
Also speaking, the coordinator of FEYReP, Mrs. Ime Ephraim Inyang advised the children to remain loyal and obedient to their guardians so as to become useful citizens. She on behalf of the first lady presented gift items to the children in the spirit of the celebration.
The event which was organized in partnership with indomie Nigeria had the children competing for various prizes in pageantry, chair dance, dakkada creed recitation and lots more.
