SCULPTOR BURIED IN A SHOE IN AKWA IBOM

The remains of Akwa Ibom born sculptor, Chief Umoh Ite, were over the weekend interred at Nung Udoe in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The shoe-like casket was built and designed by two sons of the departed, who are also sculptors.

Speaking to journalists after the burial, the eldest son, Ubong, noted that he is missing his dad already, and thanked God for giving him and his sibling such a wonderful person as father.
On the casket, he revealed that they were motivated to build it taking into cognizance the fact that his dad his leaving behind a big shoe (vacuum) to be filled.
He prayed God to grant the departed a blissful rest.
