Prince Enobong Uwah, who was appointed Chairman, Uyo Capital City Development Authority, UCCDA, accompanied by Board member, Mr Unyime Etim, today officially resumed work.
He was received by top management staff of the Authority, led by the Secretary, Mr Edwin Inyang, JP, who subsequently conducted him on a facility tour of the Authority and introduced him to staff of the UCCDA.
Prince Enobong Hammer Uwah in a chat with newsmen, commits his mission, tenure and vision to God Almighty and makes supplication for grace to succeed in delivering on Governor Udom Emmanuel’s blueprint for the UCCDA.
The Chairman, UCCDA sets his agenda, explaining that, Governor Udom Emmanuel has mandated him to revive, reposition and reform Uyo Capital City Development Authority. He said it is a new era in UCCDA, adding that Governor Udom Emmanuel demands zero tolerance for graft of any kind.
Prince Enobong Uwah announces new policies of electronic accounting system and online payment of fees, charges etc related to UCCDA operations and a maximum of two weeks ultimatum to process applications and approvals for developers.
He assured on Staff welfare and motivation, pledging to reward hardworking and diligent staff accordingly, to inspire confidence and performance.

While he sues for support and cooperation from the public, who he argues the agency is meant to serve, Prince Enobong Uwah also charged UCCDA officials to be fair but firm, civil and courteous even as they remain uncompromising in achieving the core mandate and objectives of the agency of controlling development and developing Uyo, the as well as safeguarding the Uyo capital city master plan from any aberration or abuse, as well as ensure, the master plan is implemented to the letter.
Prince Enobong Uwah thanked God Almighty for the grace and His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel for the confidence reposed on him, and the magnanimity in appointing him, yet again to serve as the Chairman of UCCDA, after previously appointing him immediate past Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal. He pledges to discharge his duties with absolute loyalty, focus, the fear of God, patriotism and sense of service to State and nation.
Responding on behalf of UCCDA staff, the Secretary of the UCCDA, Mr Edwin Inyang, JP welcomes Prince Enobong Uwah and thanks Governor Udom Emmanuel for the vision in appointing him and sending him to the Authority. Describing him as a town planner and an illustrious Uyo son, who will prove to be a square peg in a square hole, he maintains that staff are excited Prince Enobong Uwah is coming with a wealth of experience and a rich pedigree and record of performance in previous offices he has held which includes stellar performance as erstwhile Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Renewal.
Mr Inyang expresses confidence that a new order has taken off in the UCCDA and prays Gods grace to enable him succeed.
The Board member, and Mr Unyime Etim said the board is going to work as a team to achieve its goals.
