The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Akwa Ibom State Chapter has visited and consoled with the family of late Barr. Comfort Etuk over the recent dead of their daughter and a former Commissioner in the state who until her recent dead was the Chairman, State Technical Schools Board.
The Party through it leadership in the state visited the bereaved family on Wednesday 14th of June, 2017.
Led by it’s State Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo, the Party expressed deep and heartfelt sympathy to members of the family said they are shock over the sudden death, describing the dead of Barr Comfort Etuk as a great lost not only to the family but to the entire state.
The State Party Boss urged them to take solace in God who understands it better than humans.
In his speech, Obong Ekpo on behalf of the Party admonished the family to put their trust and hope on God Almighty whom according to him is the great comforter, as there is no other person except Him alone can give them the much needed comfort especially at times like this.
Paul Ekpo regrettably recalled that the late Comfort Etuk was in the forefront during the struggle of power shift to Eket Senatorial District in 2015, acknowledging her vital role that led to the success of the party during the last general elections in the state, asserting that, that is one of the reasons her death is a great lost to the party being a committed member and strong partner.
Ekpo however described the late former Commissioner for Science and Technology in Akwa Ibom State as a dependable sister and wonderful supporter of PDP whom the party was proud of. He added that their joy is that Comfort Etuk lived a good live while on earth and left good legacies behind, urging the children of the deceased and other members of the family to follow the footsteps of their late mother.
Furthermore, the family in their response thank the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Akwa Ibom State Chapter for their show of love and identifying with them during the tragic moment, saying that the part’s visit has really strengthen their faith and that they will continue to support the party even now that their own Barr. Comfort Etuk is no more alive.
They used the opportunity to invite the state government, the party faithfuls and the general public to the service of songs on Friday 16th June, 2017 at the Royal Household Ministry, Aka Itiam Street, Uyo, by 6:00pm as well as the funeral service on Saturday 17th June, 2017 at Shelter Afrique play ground, Uyo by 10:00am.
Meanwhile, the late Comfort Etuk, a native of Nnung Ukana – Ibesikpo in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State was untill her departure serving in the government of Akwa Ibom State as the Chairman, State Technical Schools Board.
