Its no more news that Senator Nelson Effiong has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) citing some irregularities in the Peoples Democratic Party led government in the state.
Recalling Nelson Effiong is up to the party, a task which seems nearly impossible, but the only option to show how true that the assertion "PDP is a religion in Akwa Ibom State '' is not merely a mirage.
Our party, PDP, should be more worried about other members of the party who would join Nelson Effiong at the other side. If Nelson Effiong said "I am John the Baptist, preparing the way.... '', the party just like King Herod's daughter should demand for the political head of Nelson Effiong before he welcomes others into the other side.
The party should setup machinery to avoid more people decamping to APC or other party. Following some reason raised by Nelson Effiong, it's very wrong for the cabal in Akwa Ibom State Government to begin projecting some persons for elective offices, like in the case of Akon Eyakenyi for Nelson Effiong in 2019 and others I would not want to mention here.
The party should has a matter of urgency address issues of imposition being peddled by the cabal if they party wants to win seats in 2019. 🙄
If the party or the government does not look into imposition being planned which has caused panic in politicians, PDP may struggle to win in 2019 as Federal might play out like in Rivers State.
Since our Governor cannot be like Governor Wike or Ayodele Fayose, a United house is the only solution. Let the so call "Professionals in Politics '' not take our party to Golgotha.
So many House of Representatives members, Senators etc are unhappy with the system. Can PDP win in Ibiono without Senator OBA?
Can PDP win in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District without Sen Godswill Akpabio?
Likewise in Oro Nation, we must not kill Rt. Hon Victor Antai to "make'' Hon. Orman Esin.
Can PDP win Mbo without Rt. Hon Victor Antai? Likewise in other local government areas, political leaders must be allowed to retire slowly than using force especially as" fast tracked '' by the the 3 musketeers in Government.
The leadership must thread with caution by not unnecessary attacking defectors.
I suggest a reconciliation committee should be set up to mend negative issues ranging from PDP ward, Chapter executives , Transition Committee composition, Inter ministerial job sharing formula, appointments etc.
