▪PDP vows to resist any attempt to use electoral officers to subvert the electoral process
A Former Federal Lawmaker, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume has met with 200 INEC Collation Officers at the University of Agriculture , Umudike where he bribed them with N20,000 each to subvert the will of Rivers people .
Senator Ararume concluded the meeting with a pledge to pay Collation Officers their balance of the agreed sum after the Rivers Rerun Elections .
However , the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in Rivers State has vowed to resist any attempt by the agents of the APC to use Collation Officers to subvert the electoral process .
It was uncovered that Senator Ararume at the meeting which took place at the Michael University of Agriculture in Umudike arranged with the electoral to concoct results in favour of the APC .
The Former Federal Lawmaker who hails from Imo State was a major revenue contractor under the Amaechi administration . He told the Collation Officers that he is working for the former Governor of Rivers State , who is his benefactor .
It was learnt from sources at the meeting , that Senator Ararume told the Collation Officers that the N20,000 he gave each of them was for their transport .
Ararume told the Collation Officers that they would be paid in full after delivery of results that favour APC during the December 10 rerun elections .
The Rivers State Chapter of the PDP insisted that the plot between Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and the 200 Collation Officers will not succeed as the plot would be resisted .
The party insisted that the PDP remains committed to credible to credible , free and fair elections .
