Commissioner for Transport and Petroleum Resources, Hon. Orman Esin says his duty in government is to interpret the vision of Governor Udom Emmanuel for the Transport and Petroleum sub sectors of the economy. The Commissioner said this during his maiden meeting with staff of the Ministry.
He informed the staff that the Governor has charged him to deliver in the Ministry and sued for the co-operation of members of staff.
"The Governor has given me a mandate to come and deliver. We must first establish the presence of God in the Ministry because the Governor has the fear of God".He said.
He added that the State is blessed to have a Governor who thinks about the next generation and not the next election. He urged the excited workers to whole-heartedly embrace the Dakkada philosophy of the Governor assuring them that the sector will evolve into something wonderful.
The Commissioner further assured the staff that issues bordering on their welfare would be accorded utmost priority. He said every staff no matter how lowly would be treated as Very Important Personalities(VIP) and charged them to dress in conformity with such positive image.
Speaking earlier on behalf of staff of the Ministry, the Director of Administration, Pastor Aniefiok Stephen described the Commissioner as intelligent, hard working, indefatigable and detribalized. He expressed optimism that the Commissioner's pedigree and experience would help to instill a sense of direction in the Ministry.
He informed the Commissioner that staff of the Ministry resume early to work every day.
The Commissioner later embarked on an inspection of the premises and offices which afforded him an opportunity to assess the state of facilities in the Ministry and to interact with staff in their respective offices. He assured that the premises would be made more inhabitable and conducive for work.
The meeting which also featured song rendition by the Ministry's choral group was attended by Heads of Departments who assured the Commissioner of their maximum support.
