Most young girls experience some forms of pains while menstruating. These include back pain, lower abdominal pains, and others. Periods can be uncomfortable, and at times, drain bodies of energy.
Eating healthy and drinking fluids is the secrets to easing these pains and here are some foods and fluids to avoid:
Dairy:
Avoid obtaining calcium from dairy products. Dairy foods like milk and cheeses can actually trigger cramps.
Caffeine:
Caffeine is another no-no. Drinking lots of coffee or pop during your period can increase higher levels of tension and anxiety.
Too Much Sugar:
Excessive sugary foods, like candy, cookies, ice cream, carbonated beverages, even when you’re not menstruating, can trigger cramps., and at times, drain bodies of energy.
Alcohol:
Anything that can damage your liver including cigarette and alcohol should be avoided.
Red Meat:
Red meat is also know to cause stomach upsets and cramps when consumed excessively.
Fried foods:
Fried foods and oils increase estrogen levels. All types of fat, from both animal and vegetable, increase estrogen levels.
