The people of Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, were during the week treated to a surprised lunch session when Sisters of Udom Emmanuel (SUE),a charity organization, stormed the area.
In what was described as a “support to Governor Emmanuel’s passionate love for his people”, the group paid a humanitarian visit to the Ikot Ekpene ultra modern plaza for a launch with citizens of the raffia city.
The people in their numbers ate, danced and participated in various competitions including Dakkada Creed recitation where they were rewarded with clothes, cash, and Dakkada branded t-shirts by the Chairman Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Sisters, Mrs Aidy Thomas.
The President of the group, Mrs Patience Dominic re-emphasized that the group since inception a couple of years ago has not relent in her bid to lending hope to the hopeless and succour to the less privileged.
Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Sam Edoho, sensitised the people of the area on the message of Dakkada , stressing the need for every Akwa Ibomite to start up something for themselves rather than waiting to be spoon fed daily.
High points were dancing competitions, recitation of the dakkada creed and messages of solidarity to the governor
