UMANA UMANA'S DG EULOGIZES Ephraim Inyang

***Scores Governor Emmanuel High On Leadership Skills

"All the stories we used to hear that (the State Commissioner for Works) Ephraim Inyang is the Umarru Dikko of this administration has been erased today.  I can only rightly describe him as an engine room of the government".

These were part of the remarks made by the former Director General, Umana Okon Umana's Governorship Campaign Organization, Chief Sunny Udom, while fielding questions from newsmen on Thursday, shortly the stakeholders meeting with contractors, consultants and engineers involved in Etinan-Eket road project. 

The meeting which was held at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Works in Uyo, had in attendance the convener and Commissioner for Works; Akparawa Ephraim Inyang, Permanent Secretary, Dr Ifreke Ekpa, Director, Civil Engineering,  Engr Mfon Abia, Director, Electrical Engineering, Engr Peter Udobang,  Director,  Administration, Mrs Mfonobong Ukim and other directors in the ministry.

Other persons included Dr Anietie Umana of Podyom Consultancy, Chief Sunny Udom, MD of Soni Udom and Partners,  the MD of CCECC Nigeria Limited, John Zhang and others involved in the project. Directors and Engineers from the Ministry of Works. 

The APC chieftain and Managing Director of Soni Udom and partners, stated that his meeting with the Works commissioner has given him a different impression of him from some of the negative stories in the media. 

Chief Sunny Udom, who scored Governor Udom Emmanuel high on Security, noted that he was impressed with the Governor's decision to convert an abandoned building into a state of the arts secretariat complex to meet with government's needs. 

His words: "As you know I was a victim of an assassination attempt.  I use to move around with policemen at great cost. I can now proudly tell you that I move around alone freely and I feel safe.  The Governor has done well in that regard". 

Chief Sunny Udom, however, thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for his leadership skills and commitment to the development of Akwa Ibom State.

Earlier, the Commissioner, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang, had dismissed reports that construction work on the 22.6km Etinan-Eket road has been abandoned.

In the words of the Honourable Commissioner, "I just met with the people involved in this project and the project is on. The project has not been abandoned in any way. I know that our people will appreciate more the work done so far when the contractors emerge from their task in the bushes and the work progresses to an appreciable extent.  The project is on I can assure you".
