Wives of Local Government Chairmen in Akwa Ibom State, today met in Uyo under the aegis of Wives of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (WALGON), to canvass their support for effective local government administration in the state.
The interactive session led by the Wife of ALGON Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Mrs Bright Archibong, had top on its agenda, the need for synergy between the different local government councils in the state.
The WALGON Chairperson also used the occasion to admonish the Chairmen wives on the need to offer their full support and cooperation to their husbands for efficient administration in their respective local government councils.
The wife of the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ikono Local Government Council, Mrs Ekaette Columba in her remarks, expressed optimism in the leadership capabilities of the current Caretaker Committee Chairmen in the state. She also used the opportunity to pledge her unflinching support and loyalty to her husband, Hon Itoro Columba towards making Ikono Local Government Area a point of reference in the state.
The session also featured intercessory prayers for the state and the country in the face of the prevailing economic challenges confronting the nation.
