A coalition of youth leaders in Eket Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State, under the aegis of Eket Federal Constituency Vanguard, has vowed to resist any further attempts by sponsored and frivolous groups to disparage the image of revered political icons from the federal constituency in a bid to score cheap political points.
They have also warned those involved in the nefarious campaigns of calumny to desist forthwith and allow the government of Mr Udom Emmanuel to remain focus in delivering on its campaign mandate to the people.
This was contained in a statement signed by all the four youth leaders in the four local government areas of the constituency namely, Comrade Godwin Nduaesa(Eket), Comrade Godwin Elijah(Esit Eket), Comrade Ekong Offong(ONNA) and Victor Edikpo(Ibeno).
The youths warned that, “ as youth leaders across Eket federal constituency, we wish to condemn in strong terms the persistent barrages of assault on Hon Ephraim Inyang, Commissioner for Works and Elder Ben Udobia, the deputy Director General of the Divine Mandate Campaign Organisation, the latest coming from a nonexistent group, Vanguard of Eket Senatorial District Stakeholders (VEST), Esit Eket Chapter.
The youths alerted that the names “being masqueraded as Coordinator and Secretary, Chief Moses Akai and Barrister Etim Abang, are nonexistent in the entire circumference of Esit Eket local government area,” adding that no living Esit Eket person has ever been known by the name Abang.”
The youths who linked the latest attack on few elements in the build up to 2019, however stated that, “… this is undoubtedly a continuation of that plot by some political gladiators, who are masquerading as PDP members, yet are dining with the opposition party in a quest to wrestle power in 2019.”
“We have their dossiers and will not hesitate to publish them if they fail to desist forthwith. We are all aware that Commissioner Ephraim Inyang has been very unrelenting in implementing and delivering the vision of our dear governor, in infrastructural expansion through massive roads construction and rehabilitation.”
The Eket federal constituency youths stated, “that the fact that the perpetrators of these attacks resorted to fake identities, give them out as mischievous and unscrupulous cowards who have no recourse to morality. The tissues of lies in their foolish statement, present a reflection of their deceitful nature and intent, which is nothing short of misleading the public.”
While eulogizing Commissioner Ephraim Inyang as a dependable ally in the Divine Mandate project, the obviously angered youth leaders stated that, “it is only an insane mind that will come out under the cover of a veil to condemn the quality of these projects that have written the state in Gold.”
On the Information Drive commissioned recently by the governor, the Eket youths retorted that, “If anyone was to complain, wouldn’t it have been the journalists who are renowned critics of shoddy contracts? Yet this is only one of the eight roads commissioned by Governor Emmanuel during his first anniversary in office, and it was executed by our dynamic Elder Ben Udobia.”
They commended Governor Emmanuel for appointing their sons and daughters into several positions in the state, and pledged their resolve to continue rallying for the success of the administration.
