Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel has said that his determination to make the state an investment hub in the Gulf of Guinea is anchored on divine guidance given the fact that God has endowed the state with abundant economic potentials.
Governor Emmanuel stated this at Full Life Christian Centre, Uyo, where he, in company of members of the State Executive Council, attended the commencement of the 16th Anniversary celebration of the Church tagged Gathering of Warriors Convention 2016.
He said Akwa Ibom State is blessed with enormous economic potentials to be exploited by investors across the Globe and that the present economic situation in the country offer Nigerians opportunity for an attitudinal shift and focus on sustainable economic development.
He added that his administration is making spirited effort to laying solid foundation for industrial take - off, regretted seeing able bodied youths roam the street with no visible means of livelihood and called for patience from the people pointing out that economic foundation is not like a finished product which can be seen immediate but has a gestation period which takes time to manifest.
The Governor emphasised that he is not in office to make enemies but to work for peace and progress of the state and expressed delight with the theme of the programme taken from the Book of Psalms 84 verse 11 saying that the celebration shall attract blessing to the church faithful.
He congratulated the General Overseer of the Church Pastor Ntia Ntia and Wife, Ukamaka for superintending over a mega place of worship comparable to the type seen in the other climes and urged the church to continue to pray for divine turn around in the economic fortunes of the state and country,
Earlier in his homily, the guest preacher Reverend Uma Ukpai, spoke on the topic the benefit of God's glory noting that the foolishness of man's faith is the winning ticket in the battles of life.
The Cleric compared life to a market square where several items beckon for attention and advised the Governor not to be distracted but stay clued to his industrialisation blueprint explaining that it holds the panacea to sustainable development.
He listed the benefits of God's glory to include protection, direction and knowledge and called on Nigerians to re- dedicate themselves to God, show love to one another as a family and fervently seek God by obeying his commandment.
Reverend Ntia who led a session of prayers for the Governor, State and the Country also expressed appreciation to God for sustaining the church in his sixteen years of existence and thanked Governor Emmanuel for worshipping in the church saying that the ten day programme will greatly impact on the people.
