[TRENDING] NEW CLAN HEAD EMERGES FOR OKOROETE CLAN


Village heads of Okoroete clan in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have today elected Chief Harry John Etetor of Elile village as the clan head elect of Okoroete.

Chief Etetor polled 5 votes to emerge the new clan head ahead of Chief Job J. Job of Bethlehem village who had 2 votes and Chief Gogonte Nglass of Ama Nglass village who recorded 1 vote. At the end of the exercise, which held at the Chambers, State Council of Chiefs, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Uyo, Chief Etetor was declared clan head elect by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt Honourable Victor Antai.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Etetor promised an all-inclusive leadership, and pledged to carry all village heads along in decision making. His co-contestants, Chief Job and Chief Nglass both accepted the result in good faith and promised to work with the clan head elect.

Thanking the village heads for a good conduct, the Commissioner also announced that the clan head elect shall be recommended to His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel for official recognition and certification of the monarch.
