No fewer than Five Thousand people have benefitted from the free surgical care exercise courtesy of Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Programme (FEYReP), Pro-Health International and Akwa Ibom state Association of Nigeria (AKISAN USA incorporated).
At Ikot Abasi general hospital, the wife of the state Governor, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel appreciated Pro-Health International, Akwa Ibom state Association (AKISAN) and Mkpat Abasi Medical group for partnering with her pet-project in ensuring that lives are transformed for better in the state.
Mrs. Emmanuel added that quality health service delivery being one of the cardinal focuses of this administration, it was exhilarating to see world class health professionals identifying with government to offer free medical care to people.
The governor’s wife who noted that the need for a healthy society can never be overemphasized pointed out that the industrialization drive of the state government could only be realized through laudable health programmes where a sizable percentage of the productive labour represent an immense reservoir of social, political and economic energy.
She however called on other good spirited individuals to contribute their quota towards ensuring that the society is healthy, promising that on her part, she will continue to partner with relevant bodies to ameliorate the sufferings of people.
The chief medical superintendent of Ikot Abasi general hospital, Dr. Richard Akpabio welcoming the governor’s wife to his domain thanked her for partnering with Pro-Health international and AKISAN to initiate the health intervention exercise, adding that the free medical care has afforded and given hope to the people.
The Executive Director of Pro-Health International Dr. Iko Ibanga said the partnership with FEYReP, AKISAN and Mkpat Abasi Medical group became necessary so as to enable them give back to the society. He thanked the governor’s wife for the laudable vision of empowering Akwa Ibom people health wise and her selfless support for the less privileged saying it has given renewed hope to the people.
Goodwill messages from the leader of Mkpat Abasi medical group , Dr. Anthony Udo Inyang, Miss Akwa Ibom USA, Miss Samanta Nkanta, and Dr. Joe Akpan of Mkpat Abasi medical group all thanked the Governor’s wife for her motherly love for Akwa Ibom children, stressing that FEYReP within just few months have added value to lives positively across the state. They promised to always continue to partner with government to add value to lives.
A cross section of beneficiaries who barred their minds on the free surgical care expressed satisfaction at the governor’s wife benevolence praying that God will reward her labour of love.
