Akai Udo Village have emerge the winner of the 2015 edition of Ebughu Football Competition. Akai Udo won the tournament after beating Oduo Ebughu on penalty shoot out after playing 90 minutes and result ended in stalemate at Community Secondary Grammar School, Ebughu.
Apart from winning the trophy, talents where also discovered during the competition. Presenting the trophy to the winning team the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt Hon Victor Antai commended the organisers of the tournament for always developing sports from the grassroots as well as discovering talented players through the competition.
He commended the winning team for their determination to compete out of the many villages to emerge the winning team. He announced the donation of Five Hundred Thousand Naira to the winning team, Three Hundred Thousand Naira to second placed and Two Hundred Thousand Naira to the Third placed.
He also gave Hundred Thousand Naira each to other villages who took part in the competition. In his remark, the coordinator of the competition thanked the Commissioner for sustaining the competition that has been going on for years and advised the winning team to make good use of the opportunity that has been given to them. Oduo Ebughu emerged the second while Akai Ebughu won the 3rd prize.
