Presidency disowns Rochas: Buhari’s Return Date Remains “Uncertain”

The Presidency has countered a claim by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State that Muhammadu Buhari will return from London in two weeks.

Okorocha had said this after he led other governors to visit Buhari who has been in London since May 7th.

Reacting on Tuesday, the presidency said there was not fixed date for Buhari’s return to Nigeria.

An Aso Rock was quoted as saying even though Buhari’s health has improved, only his doctors can give a specific date for his eventual return.

“The president had made it clear in his letter to the National Assembly that the duration of his stay in London would be determined by his doctor.

“That has not changed. He must get a clean bill of health before he returns,” the source said.

The report further quoted Femi Adesina, Buhari’s spokesperson, as confirming that the president will not be back so soon.

“I am not a doctor and even if I am, it is clear that I am not part of the team that is attending to the President.
