Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, was on from the start as Arsenal defeated Western Sydney Wanderers 3-1 in their second pre-season friendly game inside the ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Arsenal record signing, Alexandre Lacazette made his first unofficial start for the Gunners.

Iwobi was however replaced in the 66th minute by Reiss Nelson.

Goals from Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny, gave Arsenal the comfortable win.

Western Sydney Wanderers’ only goal was scored by Steven Lustica.

Arsenal went 1-0 up in the 33rd minute through Giroud who slammed the ball into the roof of the net from close range off a cross from Nacho Monreal.

Ramsey doubled Arsenal’s lead four minutes later after racing onto another Monreal pass before chipping over Western Sydney’s keeper who had come off his line.

In the 44th minute, Elneny got on the scoresheet after his 25-yard strike took a deflection before nestling into the bottom corner.

Western Sydney pulled a goal back on 57 minutes, thanks to Lustica who pounced on his rebound free-kick which had come off Arsenal’s wall to make it 3-1.
