Nigerian defender, Kenneth Omeruo has been included in Chelsea’s squad that will face English League Two club Crawley Town in a pre-season game at Checkatrade Stadium on Saturday, July 15, Completesportssnigeria.com.
The Chelsea squad made up mainly loanee players, was announced on Crawley Town’s official website on Friday.
Also included in the squad is Nigerian-born defender, Fikayo Tomori who helped England U-21 win this year’s FIFA U-21 World Cup in South Korea.
Former Chelsea star, Eddie Newton who is the Blues’ Loan Group Technical Coach and who won the FA Cup (1997), League Cup (1998), European Cup Winners’ Cup (1998) and the UEFA Super Cup (1998) during his time at Chelsea, will lead the squad for the game.
Omeruo who joined Chelsea in 2012, is yet to make his official appearance for the current English Premier League champions.
Since signing for the Blues, Omeruo has been sent out on loan four times (ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor).
