LMC Suspend Christian Chukwu Over Rangers, Imama Row

The League Management Company have suspended Rangers’ General Manager and former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu from all Nigeria Professional Football League activities, the body announced on Friday.

Chukwu’s suspension is in connection with the recent arrest of former Rangers coach Imama Amapakabo facilitated by the club over a pay dispute.

Rangers had Amapakabo, who coached the club to their first league title in 32 years last season, arrested after he allegedly took off with his official car even after he had been sacked. But the former goalkeeper claimed that the car was held in lieu of entitlements owed him by the club.

“Rangers General Manager, Christian Chukwu, has been suspended from all NPFL activities with immediate effect pending his appearance before the Ethics Committee of the NFF.

“The LMC had referred to the NFF Ethics Committee the matter of Chukwu’s conduct in the dispute resolution proceedings between Rangers and their former coach Imama Amapakabo.

“LMC said the referral is pursuant to the provisions of Rule C17.5 of the NPFL Framework and Rules.”
