Kenneth Omeruo prefers Turkey to Wolves

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has turned down the chance to join English Championship side, Wolverhampton Wanderers, despite Chelsea accepting their bid of £3m as his transfer fee.

Omeruo was due to have his medical yesterday at the club, but the 23 year old has turned his back on the move following interest in his services from two teams in the Turkish top flight.

The Nigeria international has spent the last two seasons on loan to Turkish teams, and he is pinning for a permanent move back to Turkey where Sivasspor and Goztepe have been mentioned.

Omeruo has insisted that he would prefer to join a club that will give him regular playing time, rather than remain in a clubs that will relegate him to the bench, and this may have informed his decision to prefer a permanent move to Turkey, where he expects to have a regular playing time than accept a loan deal with Wolves.

A move away from Chelsea still looks imminent for the defender as he failed to make the squad of the Premier League Champions for their pre season tour of the United States of America.

Since joining Chelsea in 2012, he has endured several loan spells away from the club, but this summer they plan to offload him permanently if a bid that matches their valuation is lodged for his service.
